Microsoft has continued in its unrelying effort to lead in the market of Operating System development and sales. Only of recent did it introduce the new Operating System Windows 7 which has become so popular and widely used.


SOME COMMON WINDOWS 7 SHORTCUT

For computer shortcut key lovers like myself, here are a few common shortcut keys applicable in Windows 7 that makes it usage very simple.
 

KEYS                                 FUNCTION
Windows Key –           To activate the start menu
Windows Key + L –     To lock your screen
Windows Key + D –     To show desktop
Alt + Ctrl + Del –         To start the Task Manager
Windows Key + Tab    To select programs under the start menu
Alt + F4                      To activate the ShutDown Windows dialog box
Windows Key + E        To launch Windows Explorer (My Computer)
Windows Key + R        To launch the Run dialog box
Windows Key + F        To launch the Search dialog box
Windows Key + G        To select each items on the desktop after the other
Windows key + Space bar     Operates as a keyboard shortcut for Aero Peek.
Windows key + Up     maximizes the current window.
Windows key + Down     if current window is maximized, restores it; otherwise minimizes current window.
Windows key + Shift + Up    maximizes the current window, in the vertical direction only.
Windows key + Left     snaps the current window to the left edge of the screen.
Windows key + Right     snaps the current window to the right half of the screen.
Windows key + Left and Windows key + Right      move the current window to the left or right display.
Windows key + + (plus sign)     functions as zoom in command wherever applicable.
Windows key + − (minus sign)     functions as zoom out command wherever applicable.
Windows key + ESC (Escape key)     turn off zoom once enabled.
Windows key + Home     operates as a keyboard shortcut for Aero Shake.
Windows key + P     shows an "external display options" selector that gives the user the choice of showing the desktop on only the computer's screen, only the external display, with the same output on both (clone), or on both displays with independent desktops (extend).
